The Congreso de Alineadores y Nuevas Tecnologías is the thematic meeting that the Spanish Society of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics (SEdO) devotes to aligner treatment. The programme goes straight to what worries the clinic: efficiency, treatment times, refinements, digital planning, hybrid protocols, complex cases and the role artificial intelligence is starting to play in planning and monitoring tooth movement. It runs for two days at the Palacio de Congresos in Granada, with national and international speakers, a clinical case marathon and a trade exhibition where the aligner brands, intraoral scanners, 3D printing, planning software and laboratories are found. The congress changes host city with every edition, and those attending are practising orthodontists and dentists, along with the postgraduates who open the Friday session.

A congress exhibition lives in bursts: the concourse fills during coffee breaks and between sessions, and empties the moment the next talk starts. The whole commercial day fits into a handful of twenty-minute windows, so the stand has to read from a distance in two seconds and have enough counter to handle three conversations at once. Then there is the product: an aligner is transparent and a generic spotlight will not show it; it needs a dark background or backlighting so thickness and fit can be seen, with models and case boxes at hand height. If there is an intraoral scanner demonstration, you have to decide beforehand where the visitor sits, what height the worktop is and what light falls on their face, as well as power and wired networking. And since it is a full build for two days of congress, we work with modules that go into storage and travel to the next edition's city with only the graphics changed.
