IEEE NSS MIC RTSD brings together in a single week three IEEE meetings: the Nuclear Science Symposium, the Medical Imaging Conference and the international symposium on room-temperature semiconductor detectors. It is the world's reference meeting on radiation detectors and instrumentation — particle physics, medical imaging (PET, SPECT, CT), dosimetry, security and space — and it moves to a different city every year; the Granada edition is held at the Palacio de Congresos, by the Genil river, with some 4,000 m² of exhibition space. It draws researchers from laboratories and universities worldwide, hospitals and the photonics, scintillator-crystal, readout-electronics and imaging-systems industry, which exhibits during the central days of the conference.

The industrial exhibition of a scientific congress has rules of its own: spaces of a few square metres in a congress-centre hall, a highly technical audience that wants to see the detector, module or readout board working, and a short set-up window between sessions. We build compact, pre-assembled stands that go up in a few hours, with lit showcases for small components, power and wired networking for live demonstrations, graphics that read up close and a table for the technical conversation. As the conference travels to another country every year, we design the structure to travel and be reused, changing only the graphics.
